Egyptian Mau neuter female Kiyaa is our dream that came true. She is extremely beautiful showing the typical characteristics of Mau. But even above her beauty comes her temper. She is the most human-affectionate, brave and open hearted cat we have ever met. She loves to take part in our everyday life and she is interested in just about everything that goes on. She loves to sleep very close to us and ride on our shoulders. She likes to play with our other cats and she loves the dog, too. Kiyaa is our foundation queen and is the mother of our A- and B-litters. She is tested negative for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, FeLV and FIV and her blood type is A. Nowadays she is retired from breeding and is the true lady of our house. But above all she is dad's little girl. Kiyaa represents the real mau to us and we wish to conserve her characteristics in future Iltavilli generations. |

Egyptian Mau female Azi is the first kitten born in our cattery and as far as we know she is the first Egyptian Mau born in Finland. She was the only kitten in her litter and has been very brave little girl. Her color is black smoke. Her mother is our own Kiyaa and her father is a black silver spotted tabby import from USA now living in the Netherlands. Azi is very curious young mau, who wants to know everything that goes on in our house. She is very sweet girl and she loves everyone! What we keep on amazing every day is her speed: you can't believe how fast she is when running around! Azi is the mother of our C-litter and our current number one breeding queen. |

He is a very sweet and handsome boy. He has excellent silver contrast, very nice spots and elegant yet still muscular body type. Manu is tested negative for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, FeLV and FIV and his blood type is A. He has had kittens also for Chai-lai cattery and is the sire of our B-litter and grandfather of our C-litter. Thank you Isabelle for this lovely boy! |

Egyptian Mau male Guy is a new addition to our breeding program and gives us valuable new genetic material. He is a gorgeous young boy. We hope to see him make lovely kittens and increase the number and quality of especially smoke egyptian maus in Finland. Guy lives in Vantaa with Antti Fagerlund and his neuter silver mau companion BigBoy. Thank you Constance for trusting us your treasure! |
FIN*Iltavilli Bomani Bnon aka Onni
|
Egyptian mau male Onni is a very promising male kitten from our second litter. His cute eyes charmed Päivi at first sight. He had to stay as a new beloved member of our family. He has strong contrast, well shaped head and nice spotting. In the future he might be available as a breeding stud for nice and healthy silver and smoke mau females. |
|
Egyptian mau female Ilona has very beautiful spotted pattern, excellent shape of head and elegant body type. She is staying close to us at pampering care of Helena Kahila. We hope to breed her in 2008. |

Siberian Cat male, neutered Allu is our first pedigreed cat. Six years ago Siberian Cats were not very common in Finland, but after seeing this beautiful breed in some cat shows we fell in love with it. We finally met Allu when he was a kitten and it was love at the first sight. Right away he took his place in our home and hearths. He is very sweet cat who loves to be petted and sleeps next to us. He loves food and is usually seen in the kitchen. He was taken to shows when he was younger and many judges liked him a lot. He has typical Siberian looks and size and beautiful hair with great silver contrast. After a four-year-break at show world he has entered shows again occasionally. Allu is the king of our family and knows his place. But above all he is mum's little boy. |
|
Siberian Cat male, neutered Soon after Allu came to our life, it was obvious that we should have another Siberian Cat. We started looking for a black mackerel tabby male kitten with good qualities. It took time before we found what we were looking for. Otto came to us and right away they became friends with Allu. Otto is a bit more shy with strangers but is very affectionate to us and likes to sit and sleep in lap. He is very interested in watching television and playing with images on the computer screen. He is also very keen on food and "addicted" to catnip. Otto started his show career extremely well by great success in the FIFe World Show 2002. He has very beautiful Siberian profile and great hair quality. Later, he decided not to like going to shows anymore, so he stays at home nowadays as a beloved family member. |

"Mau" is simply the Egyptian word for cat. By examining the mummified cats found in Egypt, it has been shown, that the Mau is actually the cat domesticated from a spotted sub-species of the African Wild Cat (felix lybica). It is probably the ancestor of all our domestic cats. The pictures in hieroglyphs are very similar to the modern Mau. Egyptian Mau is the only naturally spotted breed of domestic cat. The earlier modern Mau population was based on only a few cats imported from Egypt to the United States in the 1950's. Since then, various breeders have imported new cats from Egypt to enlarge the genetic pool of the breed. This has helped the breed to remain healthy and viable. Unfortunately, there are not many breeders in Europe yet. In last two years the egyptian mau has gained more attention in Finland. We and other mau friends have imported new cats and the future for Finnish maus seems better than ever. |
| Egyptian Mau is a medium size muscular cat. Accepted colours are
silver, bronze and smoke spotted tabbies. Black Maus are acceptable
in breeding programs in some organizations, but they are not eligible
for shows. Hair is short and shiny and very dense in silver and bronze
cats and softer and silkier in smoke. The spots come in various size
and shape but they have to be clearly separated by the basic colour.
One or more broken necklaces are seen in the chest. Big almond shape
eyes are gooseberry green in colour. In young cats yellowish eye colour
is acceptable until one and half years of age. Ears are medium or
large in size and continue the planes of the head. The head is medium
in length with gentle contour in the profile and slightly rounded
forehead. The overall look of the Egyptian Mau is alert and well balanced.
Egyptian Maus are said to be very intelligent and affectionate to their family. At first they may be a little shy with strangers. They get along well with other pets. Male cats are tender fathers and help the female to take care of their offspring if allowed to. Maus are often very fond of water. Most of them love to ride on their owners shoulder. They usually have very good appetite! |
